(BRONSON) - The Bronson Board of Education has appointed Frank Barker to fill a vacant seat on the school board following action at this week's regular meeting.
Barker has lived in the area since 1998 and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Police for the Bronson Police Department, bringing more than 30 years of law enforcement experience to the role.
He takes over the seat previously held by Jordon Houtz.
The term itself runs through December 2028, but because Barker was appointed rather than elected, the seat will still appear on the November 2026 ballot, allowing voters to decide who serves out the remainder of the term.
