(COLDWATER) - A Coldwater man is facing serious felony charges after an alleged domestic assault involving a gun. Police say 34-year-old Ryan Lynn Cotton was arrested Thursday night after officers were called to a home on Williams Street. He's accused of pointing a firearm at someone, threatening witnesses, and assaulting a woman by slamming her onto a bed. Investigators say Cotton appeared intoxicated, and a search of the garage attic where he lived turned up a loaded .40-caliber handgun. Cotton is a convicted felon and barred from possessing firearms. He was arraigned Friday in Branch County District Court on charges including felony assault with a dangerous weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony domestic violence. His bond was set at $50,000, and he's not allowed to contact the victims or return to the property. A preliminary hearing is set for December 10th at 11 a.m.
