(DEKALB COUNTY) - A 17-year-old Auburn driver was hurt Tuesday night after his SUV hydroplaned into several trees in DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of County Road 35.

Investigators say Hudson Keeran, 17, of Auburn, was driving north when he hit actively flowing water in the roadway, causing his 2021 Hyundai Palisade to hydroplane off the west side of the road.

The SUV then struck several trees.

Keeran complained of general body pain and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies say the SUV was a total loss and was removed by Riverside Towing.

The sheriff's office was assisted by the Jackson Township Fire Department, Parkview EMS, Riverside Towing and DeKalb Central Dispatch.
