(GARRETT) - A DeKalb County crash is under investigation after a driver went off the road Wednesday evening.
Deputies responded around 6:44 p.m. to the 1700 block of County Road 54, where a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer left the roadway while traveling westbound.
Investigators say the vehicle struck multiple small trees before coming to rest in a field.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Nathan Kahl of Garrett, suffered a head abrasion and was treated at the scene before being taken to a local hospital.
Deputies say they observed signs of impairment and launched an OWI investigation. Results are still pending.
Preliminary findings indicate speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Garrett Fire, Parkview EMS, Central Communications, and Tony's Towing.
