Michiana Irrigated Corn and Soybean Production Program

Farmers organizations from the region are partnering for an educational program to address issues related to producing corn and soybean under irrigation. The program will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST (7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST) at the Blue Gate Restaurant, 195 North Van Buren St., Shipshewana, IN 46565.
Bill Johnson and John Obermeyer from Purdue University Extension and Bruce MacKellar, Steve Miller and Lyndon Kelley from Michigan State University Extension will present information at the program. Greg Tylka, an internationally recognized expert on soybean cyst nematode (SCN) management from Iowa State University and Joe Lauer, corn agronomist from the University of Wisconsin, are the keynote speakers for the day.
Indiana producers will earn Private Applicator Recertification Program (PARP) credit and Michigan producers will earn four pesticide applicator recertification credits. Credits will also be available for Certified Crop Advisors and Indiana commercial applicators.
There is a $15.00 per person registration fee and pre-registration is requested before Monday, February 26, to ensure an accurate count for lunch and materials. The program flyer including registration information is available online at: http://www.extension.purdue.edu/lagrange.
