A man who had been wanted by the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Department since early February on several felony charges was captured following a police chase Friday night.
Around 10:10 p.m. a sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a silver 4-door Pontiac sedan near Pittsford Road and Beecher Road. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. The police pursuit lasted about 15 minutes.
Authorities say that 32-year-old Joseph Scott Ellsworth of Osseo was arrested for fleeing and eluding, operating while intoxicated, and not having a license.
In addition, he was also arrested on felony warrants for assault by strangulation, interfering with electronic communications, a second offense of domestic violence, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less then murder, and malicious destruction of personal property.
Ellsworth was being held on a $62,500 bond. He remains lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail.
