Two hurt in crash near Avilla

AVILLA - A two vehicle crash at the north junction of State Roads 3 and 8 near Avilla sent both drivers to the hospital Tuesday evening.

State Police say a car driven by 40-year-old Sarah Marker of Albion allegedly disregarded the signal and drove into the intersection. It was struck by a southbound car driven by 34-year-old Kerry Nelson Jr. of Fort Wayne.

Nelson was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center with neck and chest pain. Marker was taken to Parkview Noble Hospital suffering chest pain.

Troopers cited Marker for disregarding the signal.
