(COLDWATER) - The Branch County Sheriff’s Office has announced the implementation of a Victim Services Unit which will be comprised of 24 volunteers.
The unit will be the 58th in Michigan.
The Sheriffs Department says they will be called on by Deputies during a major crime, disaster or major accident to provide victims with support and needed resources. This will allow deputies to concentrate on their investigation.
The volunteers have been trained on topics such as Bereavement, Listening, Death Notification and Critical Incident Stress Management.
