(UNDATED) - Indiana Workforce Development released figures on Tuesday that showed unemployment went down throughout northeast Indiana in July. Steuben County's rate went down to 5.5 percent after being at 5.8 in June and at 7.7 percent in July of 2013. While the Steuben County labor force stayed about the same, 66 more members of the labor force were able to find employment.
LaGrange County had the lowest jobless rate in the region at 4.8 percent. Only 13 counties in Indiana had a lower unemployment rate in July.
Jobless rates in both DeKalb and Noble Counties dropped by two-tenths of a percent. DeKalb County's rate was 5.2 percent while Noble County came in at 5.4 percent.
All of the northeast Indiana counties were below the July state unemployment rate of 5.9 percent.
