MIDDLEBURY - A pursuit that began near Middlebury ended in Noble County, but not before the fleeing driver struck two police cars and a house.
LaGrange County police responded just before midnight to a call for assistance from Middlebury Police in pursuit of a car.
The vehicle missed stop sticks on U-S 20 west of State Road 5 before striking a LaGrange Police vehicle at the intersection. It headed south on State Road 5 all the way to Noble County where it hit two sets of stop sticks and a Noble County deputy’s vehicle.
The chase ended with the car coming to rest in the rear of a house on County Road 1000 North. Police say they tasered the driver when he continued to resist.
31-year-old Jonathan Gaby of Middlebury was taken to I-U Health Goshen Hospital due to his level of intoxication. Following his release he was lodged in the Elkhart County Jail. Charges in LaGrange and Noble counties are also pending.
