(ANGOLA) - The Angola City Council decided during a special meeting on the proposed 2015 Budget on Monday evening to add $5,000 for tree trimming. The action came following a suggestion from Council Member Gary Crum and a discussion with Parks Superintendent Matt Hanna.
The money will added to the Parks Department budget for Tree Board expenses. In addition, $6,000 was added to the Parks budget for a part time seasonal maintenance worker.
The Street Department is getting an additional full time employee after they have been at seven full timers for the last 11 years. Street Department Superintendent Doug Anderson also pointed out the price of road salt going from $61 to $100 a ton led to a $35,000 increase for materials.
A public hearing and the first reading of the budget ordinance is scheduled for September 15th.
