(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Sheriff Tim Troyer expressed concerns during Monday's County Commissioners meeting about a proposal from Hudson Town Marshal Mark Thrasher who offered to have Hudson officers help cover the southwestern part of the county.
Thrasher offered to have his department provide coverage on a one year trial basis. Thrasher said he had the backing of the Hudson Town Council on this request. Any funding would have to be approved by the County Council and County Attorney Don Stuckey said the Sheriff would have to make that request.
Troyer said liability insurance and training of officers would be among several issues that would have to be taken case of. Troyer added he was not at all comfortable with Thrashers proposal.
No formal action was taken by Commissioners following further discussion.
