Sturgis Street Projects Starting This Week
Monday Aug 18, 2014 10:03am
Sturgis, MI

(STURGIS) – Two major street projects are getting started this week in Sturgis.

City Staff says crews are expected to start road work on North Franks Avenue from East Chicago Road to the Doyle Community Center. The project is being supported with funding from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's Scrap Tire Grant, as the roadway will be made up in part by recycled tires.

This project was delayed due to the contractor's schedule.

Also set to begin this week is the North Centreville Road project, which will span from West Chicago Road to the railroad tracks. Michigan Southern Railroad is also expected to repair the railroad crossing on North Centreville during the construction project.

All time frames listed depend on several factors including contractor schedules, weather and other unforeseen events. They do represent the best current estimate of when work will happen.
