HOWE - A crash on State Road 9 near Howe injured both drivers Wednesday afternoon.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department says 71-year-old Shirley Hochstetler of Shipshewana was following a mini van south on State Road 9 near 700-North.

The minivan stopped for a semi that was turning around and Hochstetler says she was distracted by a crop dusting airplane. By the time she realized the minivan had stopped she could not avoid the collision.

Hochstetler suffered chest and leg pain. The other driver - 64-year-old Denny Hicks of White Pigeon – suffered neck pain.
