The Clinton Street Bridge in Defiance is nearing a closure that will impact area commuters.

Beginning in mid-February, the 28,000 vehicles that use the Clinton Street bridge in Defiance every day will have to find another way across. The two-lane bridge over the Maumee River will be closed to traffic beginning around February 11.

The bridge will be closed until late fall of 2019.

Much of the concrete work on the old structure was erected in 1932, and because of it's age cannot be repaired as quickly as rebuilding it.
