Wednesday, December 12, 2018

The MSD Board of School Trustees heard a presentation from Angola High School Counselor Dave Police on preparing students from as early on as middle school for graduation.

For the middle school students that means a six step process to prepare for high school.

For the high school students it means making sure each student fills three buckets, choosing a diploma option and helping them work towards satisfying all course credit requirements, demonstrating employability skills, and post secondary competencies or making sure they are competent for higher education.

The board also finalized the 2019-2020 school calendar which will begin on Wednesday August 14, 2019 and will feature two built in virtual learning days that will also serve as professional development days for teachers and staff.

Appointments of two principal positions; John Curtis as principal at Carlin Park Elementary, and Rose Marie Brant as principal at Pleasant Lake Elementary was approved by the MSD Board Tuesday night.

The board and patrons of Tuesdays meeting also thanked Kim Hutchins for her service on the MSD board as her tenor comes to a close.
