Neighbors Push Back Against Proposed Crooked Lake Condos
By: Sheila McCrea - Saturday, October 9, 2021

ANGOLA, IN — Changes could be coming to parts of an Angola lakefront.

Developers are one Board of Zoning Appeals vote away from building a set of condominiums on a Crooked Lake marina site.

Despite plans, some area Lake residents say the “condos” would “do more harm than good.” Opponents are citing concerns about natural resources, and feel a multi residential complex is too much for the common good of existing residents.

To build a multi-residential complex, the developers will need the BZA to approve a special exception.

Developers say the building proposal will benefit the neighborhood and beautify the shoreline.

Residents say they understand development on the lake is likely, but they want it to be reasonable.
They say 10 condos is far too much.

The BZA will vote on the special exception use Tuesday night.

If three of the five board members approve the plan, developers can begin the project as soon as the paperwork goes through.
