COLDWATER, MI – A major Michigan Department of Transportation road construction project in the City of Coldwater is scheduled to start Monday.

MDOT has plans to resurface over two miles of U.S. 12 from Western Avenue to Michigan Avenue.
The $1.4 million project includes sanitary sewer repairs, sidewalk ramp upgrades, and pavement markings.

MDOT officials say there will be lane closures throughout the project with at least one lane open in each direction except for a one-week total closure of U.S. 12 between Western/Butters Avenue and Division Street.

During that closure, traffic will be detoured onto Butters Avenue, Garfield Road and Marshall Street.

The work is scheduled to be finished by September 10th.
