City of Angola Combined Sewer Overflow Warning
By: Sheila McCrea - Monday, January 13, 2020

Due to heavy rainfall over the weekend, extended periods of rain, and excessive snow melt, City of Angola Wastewater Treatment Plant officials area warning area residents of a possible combined sewer overflow.

Wastewater Treatment Plant officials remind residents that during long periods of constant precipitation or periods of heavy rainfall or snow melt, the sanitary sewage collection system may surcharge and a combined sewer overflow could occur.

Sewage or wastewater pollution may be present in waters downstream of the city water treatment plant facility. People who swim in, wade in, or ingest this water may get sick. Special precautions should be taken to prevent accidental or intentional ingestion of water.

Bacteria levels will usually return to normal levels within 72 hours following a CSO.
