An accident early Thursday morning in Steuben County caused quite a scene. Area emergency crews in Steuben County were called to accident on State Route 120 at the Snow Lake curves involving a Semi and SUV.

Drivers were advised to seek an alternative route and were rerouted when they came to Leroy Weisel’s antique store while the scene was cleaned up.

Early reports indicated a Steuben County Sheriff's Deputy was struck at the intersection while directing traffic. Details are limited in the situation at this time, however the deputy whose name has not been released is reported to be ok after he was checked over as a precaution by EMTs. The drivers of both the Semi Tractor and SUV were also unhurt in the accident.

The road was reopened to normal traffic flow shortly after 10 A.M., as the accident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
