Vehicle Pursuit Leads To Arrest Near Wauseon

On Sunday, officials from the Williams County Sheriff's Office received information from the Defiance County Sheriff's Office in regards to two people of interest. One of which was Joshua Meyer, who had several active warrants for his arrest out for possession of firearms, and Jessica Ripke who had a warrant for arrest out of of Henry County.

Both were reported to be driving a stolen 2016 Chevrolet Cruze that was believed to be out of Hicksville. Deputies located the vehicle just outside of Stryker, during a traffic stop on County Road 18 south of County Road H-50 but the suspects fled. The duo continued to West Unity where it then turned on to U.S. 20A and continued eastbound into Fulton County where crews deployed spikes to try and hault the assailants.

The pursuit ended just east of Wauseon along U.S. 20A where Meyer and Ripke were taken into custody. Meyer was charged with Felony Fleeing and Eluding, along with Felony Receiving of Stolen Property. Ripke was charged with Felony Receiving Stolen Property, with other charges pending.

The incident remains under investigation, and both await initial court dates for their crimes.
