LaGrange Commissioners Raise Security Concerns
Tuesday, October 8, 2019

A local resident with mental health issues recently got into the basement of county office building in Lagrange twice and bathed using a restroom sink.

Aside from the mess that made, it pointed out a security concern as a female maintenance worker is the only person working in the basement. That incident prompted Sheriff Jeff Campos to call on county commissioners to lock down the building for security.

Restricting access to the building would require hiring a new security officer and purchasing security equipment for the building. A cost estimate was not stated publicly during Monday’s meeting but the commissioners have apparently asked Campos to provide an estimated cost.
