Weekend Motorcycle Crash In LaGrange County, Meth Found At Scene

On October 5 th , 2019, at approximately 12:47 am, an Officer with the LaGrange Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a Black 2009 Harley Davidson Buell motorcycle for observed traffic infractions, near the intersection of 300 S State Rd. 9 LaGrange, Indiana.

The motorcycle failed to stop for emergency lights and sirens, and a vehicle pursuit ensued with speeds reaching approximately 100 miles per hour southbound on State Road 9. Near the intersection of 500 S State Road 9, the motorcycle failed to navigate a curve in the roadway due to high speeds, ran off the road to the east, and crashed.

The driver of the motorcycle was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. During the course of the investigation, Officer’s located approximately 1 pound (453 grams) of suspected Methamphetamine in the driver’s possession. The name of the driver is being withheld at this time.

Charges for Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, and Driving While Suspended-Prior will be filed with the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office for the driver involved in this incident.

Assisting with this investigation were: LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office, Rome City Marshal’s Office, and Parkview Medical Personnel.
