Siler Sentenced On Child Abuse Charges
Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Sentence has been handed down to a Coldwater woman for her participation in a child abuse incident.

Branch County Circuit Court officials say 26 year old Jamie Siler was sentenced
Monday to nine months in jail and given three years probation. Siler plead no contest in August to a charge of attempted second degree child abuse. Charges of second degree child abuse and child sexually abusive activity were dismissed by the Branch County Prosecutor's Office.

Siler was credited with 28 days served in jail. She must undergo testing and treatment as required by the court, and she must complete sex offender treatment.
Siler and her boyfriend, 24 year old Brandon Biggs, were arrested following an
investigation by Michigan State Police that started in February 2018. Troopers say
Siler did not stop Biggs from committing crimes involving an eight year old girl, which took place over eight months. It's also alleged Biggs shared pictures of the abuse online.

Biggs was sentenced to serve between 6.5 and 10 years after he plead no contest to charges of distributing and promoting child abusive material; having child sexually abusive material and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

Biggs must also register as a sex offender.
