Angola HPC reviews Facade plans for The Venue

The Angola Historic Preservation Commission gathered on Tuesday evening and discussed a potential facade grant project for The Venue.

The Angola Historic Preservation Commission heard from representatives with The Venue located at 110 West Maumee Street in regards to renovating the front facade of the building. In order to receive grant money for the project, The Venue must be a contributing member to the historical district. In order to be contributing The Venue would be required to strip the entire facade. Representatives presented a plan B in case after removing the facade they didn't receive the grant money or
historical district contributing status.

Commission also reviewed Indiana Landmarks guidelines for designating a historical district and began to adopt and change policies based on what is best for the City of Angola.

Members of the Angola Historic Preservation Commission will be in attendance at the Monday, October 7th Common Council meeting where the Council will explore the vacation of a street behind the courthouse to make room for the courthouse remodel project.
