Shipshewana Woman Involved In Collision
Tuesday, October 1, 2019

A Shipshewana woman was involved in a weekend collision in Cass County's Howard Township.

Sheriff's Deputies were called at 2 AM Saturday to investigate a personal injury crash. They say 56 year old Vicky Light of Niles was driving south on M-51 near
Warren Road when a north bound vehicle crossed the center line and collided with
Light's vehicle. The suspect vehicle then left the scene.

Light and her passenger, 57 year old Brad Light, were both taken to South Bend
Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Deputies say the second vehicle was found a short time later. A passenger, 31 year old Kimberly McCann of Shipshewana was also taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

Seat belts were worn by all three individuals, and alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Howard Township Fire Department along with Pride Care Ambulance and SMCAS Ambulance.
