Bicyclist Struck Friday Morning Near Bryan

A bicyclist was struck on Friday morning in Williams County near County Road 13 about a half mile north of County Road H in Jefferson Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at around 8 A.M. Friday morning, a bicyclist was reported to have been southbound in the center of the roadway on County Road 13 where he was struck by a southbound Dodge Journey driven by Joseph L. Klender, age 38 of Bryan, Ohio.

The cyclist has not yet been identified but is reported as being a white male, but is presently listed in critical condition at a local hospital. He was also reported to not be wearing a helmet. Klender the driver of the Dodge was not injured in the crash, and was wearing his seat belt.

Anyone with further information, including the bike rider's identity are asked to call the Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol by calling 419-784-1025 as the investigation is ongoing.
