---Basketball---
(LAGRANGE) - Former Fremont Coach Scott LaPlace has been hired as the new boys high school basketball coach at Lakeland High School. LaPlace coached the boys basketball team at Fremont from 2000 until 2009. Lakeland Superintendent Risa Herber says LaPlace will also teach middle school physical education and health.

(GARRETT) - It's official. Big Train Country is going back to the Northeast Corner Conference. The Garrett-Keyser-Butler School Board officially approved Garrett High School going back to the N.E.C.C. on Monday night. Garrett will be leaving the A.C.A.C.. Garrett Athletic Director Chris DePew said on Twitter that they hope to return to the N.E.C.C. in time for the 2014-2015 school year.

Zac Paxson of Lakeland was the medalist with a 73. Austin Corcimiglia led Fremont with a 75 which tied him for second. Cody Bachelor led Prairie Heights with a 79 while Max Essman led Angola with a 82. Jessy Morgan of Prairie Heights was the only other Steuben County golfer who made all conference.

IHSAA Girls Tennis Sectional at Angola---
ANGOLA 4, FREMONT 1 (Kirstyn Quandt, Tracy Byrne and Alyssa Rhoades won the singles matches for Angola. The Hornets Kylie Bidlack and Kristin Heierman won at number one double while the second doubles match was won by Fremont's Ashton Taner and Kaileigh Folland.)

Trine University's sibling duo of Carly Searles and Andi Gasco have been named as Women's Softball All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. They are the first All-Americans in the 28 year history of the Women's Softball program at Trine.
